You can't eat just butter though gph.....
neilalex - Dad and I used to always get up and watch the FA Cup or Challenge Cup rugby league final in the early hours of the morning, and mum would have made some mouse-traps (cheese and bacon grilled on top of toast) and cinnamon toast and I'd wash it down with a couple of cups of Milo.
Fuck knows how I managed to go back to sleep after all that.

Up The Iron - not sure how it came about, but whoever invented it is a legend.
Another favourite was toast with cinnamon and sugar mixed together and then grilled.
Formed a nice sugary, cinnamony crust.

Never heard of this random lubrication of foods! Biscuits? Cereal? I've lived a sheltered life.
What other weird things to people put butter on? I'm guessing Shredded Wheat would fit the MO...

I have been eating weetabix this way for as long as I can remember - at least fifty years.
You don't actually spread the butter. It's best to take butter direct from the fridge and carve relatively thick slices for pressing onto the weetabix. This wonderful treat becomes even better when topped with marmite.

My dad (RIP) would do it (technically it was Shredded Wheat but it is pretty much the same) with butter and hot milk before he started eating healthy. Left it a right soggy mess so I never did.
This was 30 years ago so what was healthy was different, before we go back to the butter thread.
